Peter Crinis, Executive General Manager for Crown Hotels, said a new name for the hotel would be unveiled in the next few months. The current two Crown properties are the Crown Towers and Crown Promenade Hotel. The new hotel will have 658 rooms, bringing the total number of rooms at the Crown Entertainment Complex up to 1,600.
The new hotel site will front Clarendon Street, close to Melbourne’s Exhibition Centre, and will complement the new Plenary Hall and Convention Centre being built.
The group has appointed Harley Moraitis as the General Manager of its third hotel.
Moraitis joined Crown Towers in December 2000 as Villa Division Manager. Prior to joining Crown, he was with the Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt Hotel where he was part of the team responsible for the hotel’s pre-opening.
