Abu Dhabi Grand Prix gears up for opening

The much-awaited Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been sold out and titled the most attended ever. This year’s increased daily allocation was 60,000 tickets – up from 55,000 in 2013. The guests are looking forward to a nail-biting finish with Rosberg’s recent victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix which brought him within 17 points of championship leader Hamilton.

Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit said: “The demand has been unprecedented, locally and internationally. The F1 championship has come down to the wire, and people can’t wait to see the champion crowned right here in Abu Dhabi.”

Some of the entertainment lined up includes DJ Armin Van Buuren, R&B giant Pharrell Williams and legendary British rock band The Who, including Egyptian movie star Tamer Hosny, Lebanese actress Carole Samaha, Emirati singer Faiz Al Saeed, and Palestinian Mohammed Assaf of ‘Arab Idol’ fame.
