Accor has opened its first Novotel in Chennai – and in the whole of southern India’s Tamil Nadu state.
The new Novotel Chennai SIPCOT is located close to the city’s ‘Silicon Valley’ area of Old Mahabalipuram Road, which is home to many IT companies, and forms part of a complex that will also include an ibis hotel.
The new Novotel offers 180 rooms and suites, all 32-inch flat-screen televisions, large wardrobes, minibars, unlimited tea and coffee and modern bathrooms.
In the lobby, a touch-screen ‘virtual concierge’ provides 24-hour access to information such as the weather, flight status, restaurant recommendations and city attractions, while F&B options include a large buffet restaurant, bar, deli and poolside dining area.
Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool and more than 200m² of meeting and event space.
“Novotel Chennai SIPCOT is strategically positioned in the IT hub to accommodate corporate guests travelling to the city. With the launch of Novotel Chennai SIPCOT we hope to present our guests with Novotel’s world-renowned service standards in this important precinct,” commented Jean-Michel Cassé, senior vice President of operations for Accor India.
Accor now operates 10 Novotels in India, including properties in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Visakhapatnam.
