Accor has rebranded one of its Formule 1 hotels in Sydney as an ibis.
The property, located on William Street, has rebranded as the ibis Budget East Sydney, becoming the 18th Formule 1 hotel to join Accor’s ibis portfolio following a recent restructuring of Accor’s budget brands.
The 115-room hotel offers views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
“Proving we are committed to investing in the economy sector while not compromising on quality, the multi-million dollar renovations and staff training programmes taking shape across our ibis hotel portfolio have set a new standard for economy hotels in Australia and we are excited to have ibis Budget East Sydney join the fold,” said Accor’s chief operating officer for Accor Pacific, Simon McGrath.
“With the rise of low-cost airlines entering the market and an emerging number of middle class travellers, Accor has been keeping pace with the evolution and as a result we are heavily investing in the ibis Budget brand and it has so far been paying dividends.”
Accor recently revamped its budget brands, developing a new range of hotels under the names ibis Budget and ibis Styles.
