Accor has agreed to manage a hotel currently under construction in New Zealand.
The Novotel New Plymouth is scheduled to open early next year on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island, and will feature 100 rooms, including apartment units. Facilities will include three F&B outlets, two meeting rooms, a swimming pool, gymnasium and a spa.
“This is a key development for the Taranaki region, which will positively add to New Zealand’s hotel industry and wider economy,” said Accor’s vice president of operations for New Zealand, Fiji & Japan, Garth Simmons.
“The hotel’s opening will stimulate travel to the region from a range of sectors, particularly business and leisure travel.”
The NZ$22 million (US$19m) development is located close to New Plymouth’s town centre and will mark Accor’s eighth Novotel in New Zealand, following existing properties in Christchurch, Queenstown, Wellington, Rotorua, Hamilton and Auckland.
