Air New Zealand, Tourism New Zealand sign £9.9m deal

Air New Zealand and Tourism New Zealand have entered a one-year partnership worth NZ$20 million (GBP9.9m, US$15.5m) to promote the destination.
The pair have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on marketing New Zealand to international markets including the UK with 80% more spend than the previous year.
“Air New Zealand has a long-standing relationship with Tourism New Zealand, having worked closely with the organisation in all of our key markets to promote New Zealand for a number of years. Today’s MoU signals a significant step-change in the level of joint marketing activity we will undertake to promote destination New Zealand,” said Christopher Luxon, CEO of Air New Zealand on the deal.
The announcement comes after New Zealand’s government unveiled a NZ$158m boost in tourism funds in the next four years.
“Tourism New Zealand welcomes Air New Zealand’s decision to also lift its co-investment in marketing New Zealand in parallel to the Government’s boosted commitment meaning we can do more togetherm” said Kevin Bowler, chief executive at Tourism New Zealand.
Air New Zealand also unveiled its new livery today with its Fern Mark. The new look will be rolled out later this year, with the majority in the white design.
