Air Tahiti seals American codeshare
Air Tahiti Nui has signed a new codeshare deal with American Airlines.
The new agreement, which is still subject to US regulatory approval, will see American to place its code on Air Tahiti Nui’s flights between Los Angeles and Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia. Air Tahiti Nui meanwhile, will place its code on American’s flights from Los Angeles to more than 15 cities across the US including New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami and Washington (Dulles and Reagan).
“Upon approval, our codeshare relationship with Air Tahiti Nui will give our customers yet another option when traveling to the South Pacific and French Polynesia,” said Kurt Stache, American’s Vice President of Strategic Alliances. “We look forward to working with Air Tahiti Nui to provide our customers more options and easy access when traveling throughout our respective networks.”
“The marketing strength of American Airlines will raise awareness across the United States about the destination of Tahiti and the addition of these new cities to the route network will help further develop the inflow of tourists to Polynesia,” said Etienne Howan, Chairman & CEO of Air Tahiti Nui.
The latest deal follows the recent expansion of Air Tahiti Nui’s codeshare agreement with Qantas.
