With no check-in desks or reception staff, arriving at Airbnb properties can often be a confusing process.
To alleviate these problems, the home-sharing company has created a new way of delivering check-in instructions to guests, with the aim of improving the arrival process.
Now, guests will be able to receive a visual, step-by-step guide of what look for and expect when they arrive, within the Airbnb mobile app. These instructions will be created by the host and automatically shared with guest, reducing the number of back-and-forth messages and alleviating the need for guests to either copy and paste or print out emails.
Instructions can include information about which door to enter through, where the lockbox is located, and what the code is. Guests will be able to access these instructions from the app, even without internet access.
The new check-in instruction tools will be rolled out to hosts and guests across the globe this month.
