Al Areen close to finding new hotel operator

Al Areen Holding Company is already close to finding a new management company to operate the former Banyan Tree resort in Bahrain.CEO Tariq Al Jowder said the firm had been approached by “various internationally-recognised luxury hotels and spa operators” and said offers were “in their final negotiation stages and that the new operator’s name will be announced very soon”.Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts Group Managing Director Ariel Vera, who is taking legal action against Al Areen for breach of management contract, declined to give advice to would-be operators of the luxury resort but said that following publicity of Banyan Tree’s case, he would sure they would be entering the agreement “with their eyes open”.In the meantime, Al Areen has appointed Khalid Anib as the new General Manager of what is currently known as the Al Areen Resort, “in accordance with the competence and experience which he sustains in his 16 years of service in the hospitality industry”.
