Amadeus profits up 12.2% in H1

Amadeus has reported a positive first half to 2011, with adjusted profit increasing 12.2% to EUR263.7 million (US$378.5 million) and revenue growing 3.9% to EUR1,389.0 million. At an operational level, both Distribution and IT Solutions businesses have seen continued growth, with important developments in the Asia-Pacific region. In Distribution, Amadeus signed a deal with TOPAS, a subsidiary of Korean Air, to launch a reservation system using Amadeus technology which will handle more than 50% of all travel agency bookings in Korea.
