American Airlines international traffic rises in February

American Airlines has reported a 0.8% year-on-year rise in international traffic in February. Domestic traffic however, declined 3.9% compared to February 2009, leading to an overall 2.2% drop in passenger traffic. The airline cut overall capacity by 4.2%, leading to a 1.5 percentage point rise in load factor, which averaged at 75.5% for the month. On international routes, capacity was cut 5.7%, which allowed load factor to climb 4.6 points to 72.8%.
