American Airlines and Expedia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) enabling both parties to resume doing business together, effective immediately. Access to the airline’s fares and schedule information has been restored on Expedia’s global sites, initially via GDS technology. The accord follows a major dispute between the two companies, relating to American’s efforts to drive more bookings to its own website, AA Direct Connect.
The new deal will see Expedia access American’s products via Direct Connect, using aggregation technology provided by a GDS. Additional terms of the MoU were not disclosed.
