American announces Manchester-Charlotte route

American Airlines has announced new flights between Manchester and Charlotte as aligns its European routes for the summer.
The new route will be operated by US Airways on a daily basis to offer almost hourly connections to the east coast of the USA, or to the near 600 destinations in the airline’s network.
Passengers called Charlotte will have free access to the ‘Escape Lounge’ at Manchester Airport when the flights debut on 23 May.
Flights will depart Manchester at 14.25 to land in Charlotte at 18.20, while the return leg leaves the US at 20.35 to land in Manchester the next day at 9.30.
The Charlotte route joins America’s other flights to New York and Chicago from the north England airport.
American’s new routes for summer including Lisbon, Brussels and Barcelona to Charlotte as well as its seasonal services from Glasgow to Philadelphia.
“By increasing our presence in Europe to a combined 56 routes, we are providing our customers on both sides of the Atlantic with a growing choice of seamless connections to major business and leisure destinations worldwide,” said Suzanne Boda, American Airlines’ senior vice president of of Asia, Canada, Europe and Cargo.
American’s other seasonal routes include Paris to Boston; Rome, Dublin and Helsinki to Chicago; Rome to New York; Dublin and Madrid to Charlotte and Shannon and Athens to Philadelphia. Some are operated by American Airlines while others are by US Airways.
