American Airlines has announced that it will be moving in with its oneworld partner, Japan Airlines (JAL) at the latter’s sales and marketing offices in Shanghai. The move, which took place yesterday (11 July), means that American’s new office is located on the 7th floor of Huaihai Plaza on Huaihai Zhong Road. It is a five minute walk to both Line 1 and Line 10 of the Shanghai Metro at Shanki Road South Stations.
“By locating our Shanghai office in Huaihai Plaza, we will be able to work more closely with our oneworld partner, Japan Airlines. This will enhance our abilities to work on the newly-implemented Pacific joint business that began on April 1,” said Victor Lee, American’s Regional Director – Greater China.
American’s new Shanghai office will house 15 employees responsible for sales and marketing in China. They will work closely with JAL, which offers daily direct services from Tokyo’s Narita airport to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, as well as connections between Tokyo’s Haneda airport and Shanghai’s second airport, Hongqiao. American flies direct daily to Shanghai from Chicago and Los Angeles.
Last year American moved its Asia Pacific regional headquarters to the JAL Building – the Tokyo headquarters of JAL.
