American Airlines will launch a new trans-Pacific service between Los Angeles and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport next year.
Commencing on 11 February 2016, the service will operate daily using American’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. It will complement American’s existing service between LA and Tokyo Narita Airport.
Flights will depart Los Angeles at 1800 and arrive at Haneda at 2300 the following day. The return service will then depart at 0130 and arrive back in LA at 1820.
“It’s important for our customers to have direct access to Tokyo Haneda, and we’ll be proud to serve this key airport from Los Angeles,” said Andrew Nocella, American’s chief marketing officer. “This new flight is a fantastic addition to our growing network to Asia and a great complement to our existing service to Tokyo Narita.”
The new B787-8 that American plans to use on the route features 28 flat-bed seats in business class seats, 48 seats in premium economy and 150 in economy. All passengers will be offered touchscreen in-flight entertainment, in-seat power outlets and USB ports, and in-flight Wi-Fi.
