Andhra Pradesh to build new tourist spots

Andhra Pradesh will develop new tourism projects by adopting the Public Private Partnership (PPP) route.
The state will incur an investment of about US$166.8 million (INR1,000 crore). This development has been supported by the Ministry of Tourism which a sanction of INR221 crore.
The plan involves building coastal corridors along the Vizag – Bheemunipatnam sea front and Vizag-Vizianagaram – Srikakulam regional circuit with INR175 crore investments. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) will operate nine new beach properties at Baruva and Kalingapatnam (Srikakulam district), Chintapally (Vizianagaram), Kakinada (East Godavari), Perupalem (West Godavari), Ramayapatnam (Prakasam), and Tummalapenta, Maypadu and Kotta Kudur (all in Nellore).
APTDC has also allotted INR40 crore on marketing and promotional activities.
Chandana Khan, special chief secretary to the Andhra Pradesh government and chairman & managing director of APTDC commented, “We want to showcase to our guests that everything is possible in Andhra Pradesh. Today, the state has much more to offer in terms of virgin locations. We are sure that the new tourism infrastructure will delight the new-generation visitors. We are keen to promote Andhra Pradesh as the most desirable round-the-year tourist destination in India.”
