The Ascott Makati in Manila, Philippines, has introduced a series of eco-friendly initiatives ranging from a Green Meetings Package and Herb Garden to a monthly Earth Hour and green activities for children. As well as green meeting packages which save energy, cut waste and use recyclable materials, the serviced residence runs a monthly Earth Hour to raise awareness of global climate change.
On every first Saturday of the month, the lights at Ascott Makati’s public areas are turned off from 8pm to 10pm. Residents join in this movement by switching off the lights in their apartments.
Another way in which residents reduce their carbon footprints is by purchasing Ascott Makati’s range of green collectibles such as eco-bags for shopping trips and re-usable tumblers.
