The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is calling for bids from consultants to create its new tourism marketing strategy.

The regional bloc has assigned a budget of US$30,000 for its ASEAN Tourism Marketing Strategy 2017-2020, and is seeking proposals no later than 19 August 2016. The winning bid will be announced by 9 September, and the final version of the marketing strategy is scheduled to be delivered by mid-2017.

“ASEAN is looking forward to hearing from highly experienced consultants with a proven track record in preparing tourism marketing plans,” said Tran Phu Cuong, acting director general of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and co-ordinator of the bidding process.

“The consultant will be experienced in working across multi-cultural settings, and be willing to think and act creatively and strategically, and produce innovative tourism solutions.”

The tourism marketing strategy will follow the ‘Visit ASEAN@50: Golden Celebration’ campaign that will be rolled out in 2017 to mark 50 years of ASEAN. It will also form part of the existing ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016-2025, which has already been adopted.

The scope of work for the marketing plan includes the development of a market research programme to analyse ASEAN’s current market positioning and future trends expected to impact tourism in the region. CLICK HERE for more information.
