BA launches new Windows 7 mobile app

British Airways has partnered with Microsoft to offer a new mobile app to Windows Phone 7 users. The new app provides instant BA flight information to a passenger’s mobile, providing real-time updates. In addition, customers will be able to check-in on their mobile and download boarding passes direct to their handset. Terminal maps have also been added to BA’s app for the first time, helping customers to find their way through airports across the world.
Richard Bowden, BA’s Digital Marketing Innovation Manager, said; “This new app puts Window Phone 7 users in charge of their travel experience with British Airways like never before. The app has been built with the customer at heart, to give them more freedom and convenience.
“Our partnership with Microsoft ensures British Airways is the only UK airline to provide app access across a greater range of mobile platforms and underscores our commitment to constant innovation and improvement.”

The app will be available on the Windows Phone Marketplace from 1 June 2011.
