Current figures show 5000 Australians are on the island, however, none are on immediate risk due to the case being remote and hours away from popular tourist areas and risk to short term travellers are quite low.
Chairman of the Bali Tourism Board I B Ngurah Wijaya called for immediate Government action to prevent an outbreak of the disease.
