Banyan Tree, the Singapore-based luxury hotel group, has unveiled plans to open its first branded residences in Australia.
The AU$150 million (US$107m) project will bring 76 new private residences to Brisbane, as part of a new development overlooking the river, city and botanic gardens.
Construction is due to commence in the second half of 2016 with completion expected in late 2018.
“We are excited to launch our first Banyan Tree branded residences in Brisbane. The city was a natural choice given its 2.2 million residents and AU$135 billion economy. As the leader in the country’s infrastructure boom, there are strong growth projections for Brisbane as it continues to transform and evolve,” said Banyan Tree’s executive chairman, Ho Kwon Ping.
Set in an eye-catching new building featuring three “undulating wave structures”, Banyan Tree Residences Brisbane will include 76 freehold private residences over 10 levels: four penthouses (three with rooftop infinity pools and private garden terraces), 27 three-bedroom apartments and 45 two-bedroom apartments.
Facilities will include a Banyan Tree Spa, retail area, gym, dining venues, function rooms and a rooftop garden with private event space, barbeque facilities, daybeds and a large infinity-edged swimming pool.
Residents will also be offered membership of the Banyan Tree Sanctuary Club, which entitles them to discounts and privileges at the group’s global network of resorts and spas, and access to the Banyan Tree Private Collection, a global portfolio of villas.
