Barrhead Travel has revealed its cruise sales turnover for 2014 was expected to reach GBP100 million following new cruise brand links.

The Scottish travel firm has forged partnerships with several cruise lines including most recently a tie-up with Royal Caribbean International. This has seen a branded area and t-shirts in its Braehead store.

“We’re delighted to be further growing our relationship with Royal Caribbean. As they’re a premium cruise brand with whom we have worked for more than 20 years, we have taken the relationship to another level by strengthening and building on the offering that we provide to customers,” said Sharon Munro, chief executive at Barrhead.

Stuart Leven, Royal Caribbean managing director UK and Ireland said: “Scotland and Ireland are crucial territories for Royal Caribbean and our strategic partnership with Barrhead Travel will accelerate us towards our ambitious growth goals in these areas, cementing us as a market leader.”

CLIA held its first Cruise Forum before the festive break, where many cruise lines and agents said they felt optimistic for cruise sales in 2015.
