An animal welfare group in Vietnam has rescued 19 Asiatic black bears from an illegal bile farm, Thanh Nien News has reported. Hong Kong-based Animals Asia Foundation was reported saying that the bears were found in cramped cages in Binh Duong province near Ho Chi Minh City. Their bile is thought to have been extracted for use in Chinese medicines. The animals have now been taken to the Moon Bear Rescue Centre near Hanoi, the report added.
