Monarch Airlines has announced its flights from Birmingham and East Midlands this summer.
The airline will introduce two new scheduled services from Birmingham to Barcelona and Nice from 20 July, as well as flights to Malaga, Majorca, Alicante, Faro, Rome, Dalaman, Ibiza and Tenerife. In addition, its East Midlands services will begin on 31 August to Malaga, Alicante, Faro and Palma.
“The addition of new daily services from Birmingham Airport to Nice, a new scheduled destination for the airline and the new services to Barcelona supports our determination to deliver an all-encompassing proposition; offering choice, value and superior customer service from all of the major gateways in the UK,” said Kevin George, managing director of Monarch.
Flights to and from the airports were put in jeopardy when bmibaby announced it is to close. Other airlines have also stepped in to ensure routes will continue to operate.
