Bonvo Travel is set to expand its foothold in the corporate travel business, after inking a deal with Fleming Gulf Conferences to be its official travel partner in the Asia Pacific region.Bonvo General Manager Andy Michaels Lim said the company will provide FGC with corporate travel management and related services covering flight arrangements, accommodations and leisure programmes.”The deal will see us managing the land and air travel arrangements for over 1,200 senior-level delegates from the Asia-Pacific who will attend eight major FGC-organised conferences in the region in the next 12 months.”Lim said the Meetings Incentives Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) industry has also played an instrumental role in attracting international visitors to the region, and this has further helped to grow Bonvo’s business.Quoting statistics from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), he said the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies welcomed over 40% of all international arrivals in 2010, while preliminary figures for 2011 show a year-on-year increase of 5%.”In Singapore, international visitor arrivals reached 3.12 million in the first quarter of 2011 alone, resulting in a 15.7% year-on-year growth, according to figures from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).”All these augur well for our tourist travel business. And now that we are increasing our profile in the corporate travel sector as well, we have no doubt that Bonvo’s business will grow at a greater pace,” Lim said.
