“Most advanced sunlounger” comes to Ibiza
A beach club in Ibiza has introduced Simba Blue, which is billed as the “world’s most advanced sunlounger”. Blue Marlin Ibiza’s new lounger combines hybrid mattress technology with a facial misting system, a solar-powered phone charger, a Wi-Fi hotspot, safe, beverage cooler and an LED parasol system which glows a sleep-inducing colour in the evening.
Air France-KLM offers full virtual journey
Air France-KLM is also inviting visitors to experience its entire business class experience in virtual reality. At the Viva Technology trade show, a new virtual simulation allows guests to visit the airport, spend time in the Air France lounge, travel in a business class cabin, interact with flight attendants and arrive at their destination, all in a 3D and 4D environment.
W Hotels creates industry’s first video game
To mark the opening of W Bellevue in the US, W Hotels has created the hotel industry’s first ever video game. Belle the Bear allows guests to find their way around the tech city of Bellevue, Washington state, in a “Frogger-style adventure game”. The five highest scorers in the US will win prizes, with the top scorer receiving a three-night stay at W Bellevue.
FCS helps hotels connect with guests
FCS Computer Systems has launched a guest service management solution for hotels. The new FCS Connect allows hotels to take voice and image requests from guests via SMS, with full translation capabilities. The solution can store requests and integrate them with the hotel’s PMS, and staff can scan QR codes with the mobile app to report their location.
