The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has officially launched BusIndia.com.
The portal was officially launched by Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highways. The portal brings together bus transport operators across the country under a single window, there by facilitating passengers to plan their bus travel across Indian cities with ease.
The portal has been developed by Bengaluru-based Radiant Info Systems Ltd in partnership with the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT).
BusIndia.com has integrated 16 transport corporations from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, Meghalaya and Gujarat in phase one, while phase two will see the inclusion of transport corporations from Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, Puducherry and Goa along with other state-owned transport corporations.
“This is an important milestone in transportation services in our country and I am proud that we have been able to achieve this. I compliment the efforts of Radiant Info and their team who have relentlessly worked over several years to integrate all state services into one single portal,” said Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highways.
Citing similar opinion, Venu Myneni, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Radiant Info said, “It has been our dream project since the launch of the first online bus ticketing system we did in 2006. With bus services in India connecting to remote locations within the country, this service will now be useful to anyone in India and abroad to easily plan their travel within the country.”
