Celebrity Cruises’ President & CEO Dan Hanrahan has cut the first piece of steel for its new liner, Celebrity Reflection, at shipbuilder Meyer Werft in Germany. The sleek, 3,030-guest ship will debut in the autumn of 2012, when it will become the fifth in the five-ship Solstice Class range of liners.
This takes place whilst its sister ship, Celebrity Silhouette is in the final phases of construction. Celebrity Silhouette will set sail in July of this year, featuring a host of industry-first concepts, including the interactive ‘Lawn Club Grill’, where guests can select and grill their own meats with chefs, or have them cooked to order; Wi-Fi equipped cabanas called ‘The Alcoves”; ‘The Porch’, a casual dining venue offering sandwiches and coffees; and ‘The Art Studio’. The ship also will include another new venue, ‘The Hideaway’ – a quiet space intended to replicate a childhood tree house.
Celebrity Reflection will also feature all of these new onboard venues, in addition to the cruise line’s first AquaClass suites – the spa-inspired staterooms.
