Celebrity Cruises’ newest liner, the Celebrity Silhouette, has emerged from Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The US$750 million, 315-metre-long ship is the fourth of Celebrity’s five-ship Solstice Class fleet. It is due to set sail in July of this year.
The ship will feature a range of industry-first concepts, including The Lawn Club restaurant, featuring the interactive Lawn Club Grill, where guests can select and grill their own meats with Celebrity’s chefs. Other new features include private, Wi-Fi-equipped cabanas called ‘The Alcoves’, and an Art Studio where passengers can paint or sketch. The ship also will offer ‘The Hideaway’ – a quiet space designed to be reminiscent of a childhood tree house.
The 2,850-passenger Celebrity Silhouette will initially sail a series of Mediterranean itineraries, before moving to the Caribbean in winter 2011-12.
