Centara to train Maldivian hoteliers
Centara has launched a new programme to train Maldivian hoteliers.
The scheme will see personnel from the Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives offered training in Thailand and Switzerland, while continuing to receive full pay and benefits. Trainees will initially complete five months in Thailand, including training at the Dhurakij Pundit University and on-property management training at Centara properties. They will then travel to the Swiss College of Hospitality Management in Lenk for seven months’ further academic training.
“This is a completely new programme for us. We want to open new opportunities for Maldivians working in our resorts and to offer them satisfying and rewarding careers in the hospitality industry. This is just the beginning of what will be a continuing programme over the years,” said Centara’s area director of human resources for Maldives, Mohamed Solih Didi.
Centara currently operates one resort in the Maldives but plans to open two more in the coming months and years.
