Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport has declined in the first two months of 2015.
In total, the airport handled 8.54 million passengers in January and February 2015, 1.9% fewer than the 8.71m registered in the same period last year. Traffic edged up 0.3% in February, largely due to the impact of Chinese New Year, but this was not enough to offset the 3.8% drop experienced in January.
And the number of take-offs and landings at Changi have also declined 3.2% in the first two months of 2015, including a 5.2% drop in January and a 1.0% decline in February.
Despite these declines, Changi is still one of the Asia’s busiest airports, handling more than 100 airlines, with approximately one take-off or landing every 90 seconds.
