China Airlines (CAL) has formed a new partnership intended to offer passengers a greater range of destinations in the US.
The Taiwanese carrier has signed a codeshare agreement with California-based Virgin America, allowing passengers to connect to the US airline’s flights at Los Angeles or San Francisco airports.
Having flown across the Pacific on CAL’s services from Taipei’s Taoyuan Airport, passengers can connect with Virgin America and fly onwards to Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Newark, New York, Seattle and Washington DC. Baggage will be checked through to the final destination.
“China Airlines began flying to California in the 1970s and we are thrilled to expand our reach from the state even further with San Francisco hometown airline, Virgin America,” said CAL spokesperson, Jeffrey Kuo.
“Starting October 26, our guests will have even more travel options from Taipei to 11 destinations in the United States with Virgin America’s codeshare flights.”
Bookings for codeshare flights are already on sale.
