China Southern Airlines will expand its trans-Pacific network this summer with the launch of a new route to Toronto.
Commencing on 3 August 2016, the airline will offer four weekly flights direct between Guangzhou and Canada’s largest city.
The outbound flights depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1430, and arrive in Toronto at 1730. The return service will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0130, arriving back in Guangzhou at 0500 the next day.
China Southern will deploy its 309-seat, four-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route.
Toronto becomes the carrier’s second destination in Canada and its fifth destination in North America, following Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. China Eastern Airlines, Air Canada and Hainan Airlines also fly direct between Toronto and China, but this will be the first connection from Guangzhou.
Several other Chinese airlines are planning to launch Canadian flights this year, with Tianjin Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and Capital Airlines all planning to serve Vancouver and Hainan Airlines launching flights to Calgary.
