China Southern Airlines has signed a AU$600,000 (US$650,000) deal to sponsor the Sydney Festival 2012, becoming the event’s first Chinese partner. The sponsorship deal was finalised during New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrell’s recent trip to Guangzhou.
China Southern flies twice daily from Sydney, daily from Melbourne and three times a week each from Brisbane and Auckland.
The Sydney Festival, which takes place on the streets and in the parks of central Sydney in January 2012, is expected to attract around one million people.
