China is building a new museum in Wuhan to mark the centenary of the Xinhai Revolution, which will be celebrated later this year. Xinhua reported that the 1911 Revolution Museum will open in the central Chinese city on the eve of the centenary, which falls on 10 October 2011. Authorities in the city, where the revolution started, have mounted a global search for lost materials and artifacts relating to the period. The uprising, led by the Kuomintang founder Sun Yat-sen, led to the creation of the Republic of China.
