China to help build Sri Lankan airport

China will lend Sri Lanka US$200 million to build a second international airport in the south of the country, the BBC has reported. The new airport will be near a vast seaport at Hambantota, which is also being funded by Beijing. Another US$100 million of Chinese money will go towards developing Sri Lankan railways, the report added.
