Cockpit fire forces Qantas A330 to land

A Qantas international passenger jet was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Cairns yesterday, after a fire broke out in the cockpit of the Airbus A330-200. According to a Channel NewsAsia report, the plane was carrying 158 passengers and crew from Manila to Sydney when an electrical fault broke out in the cockpit. The pilots were able to extinguish the blaze but landed as a precaution.
