The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation has opened a dedicated office in Australia. The office, located in Sydney, opens as the Cook Island’s biggest ever advertising campaign rolls out in the lead-up to Air New Zealand’s launch of direct Sydney-Rarotonga services on 5 July. The 15 month tactical campaign promotes the “undiscovered” Cook Islands via a mix of newspaper, online and outdoor ads, including a campaign on the Sydney monorail.
“The decision to move from representation to a full-time office and this substantial and unprecedented advertising spend reflects Cook Islands Tourism’s commitment to the Australian market,” said Carmel Beattie, Chief Executive Officer of Cook Islands Tourism Corporation.
“We are now actively working on ways to make the Cook Islands easier to sell,” said the new office’s General Manager, Kerryn Cook. “We’ve gone live this month with a more informative and easier to navigate website cookislands.travel and are developing a portal for Australian wholesalers to add packages. We will be introducing huge trade incentives and an online training programme,” she added.
