Costa to relaunch Romantica liner

Costa Cruises will refurbish its Costa Romantica liner and relaunch it as the Costa neoRomantica in January 2012.
The European cruise giant has placed an order with San Giorgio del Porto shipyard in Genoa, Italy, for major restyling of the 53,000-tonne, 1,697-passenger liner. The work will cost an estimated EUR90 million (US$128 million), and will be carried out from the end of October 2011 to the end of January 2012.
The makeover will see the addition of two new half-decks, along with 111 new cabins and 120 private balconies for cabins and suites. Total guest capacity will increase from 1,697 to 1,800, while the number of cabins will increase from 678 to 789.
