A sharp rise in transactions in the Asia Pacific region helped Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) post a strong performance for 2010, the company announced yesterday. While the company saw an increase in transactions from each of its global regions, Asia Pacific’s 27.7% rise made it CWT’s fastest growing market. This compared to an 18.4% increase in transactions from Latin America, a 12.7% rise from North America and 6.6% from Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). Globally CWT’s 2010 sales volume expanded 13.5% to US$24.3 billion, following an 11.9% rise in transactions. The company was able to retain 96% of its clients’ business last year, while winning US$1.8 billion in new sales.
