Car rental company, Dollar Thrifty has asked Avis Budget Group and Hertz to make their “best and final” offer for the company by early October. The two car hire giants have been battling to acquire Dollar Thrifty since April 2010, and the company’s CEO, Scott Thompson told Bloomberg on Sunday that he hoped the issue would be resolved soon. Avis has offered US$1.55 billion for Dollar Thrifty, while Hertz’s previous best offer was valued at US$1.91 billion.
