Another week another DoubleTree opening, this time the brand’s ninth in London.
The growing hotel brand has added a property close to Hyde Park after a GBP10 million refurbishment that now includes 12 extra rooms (up to 228 rooms in total) and a fitness centre. Plans are also in place to open a ‘farm to fork’ restaurant this September.
Its opening is one of a string of new hotels to pop up in the capital, with the hotel’s owners Westmont Management aware of the competition.
“London has experienced steady growth in the hotel market over the last couple of years and the initiation of an investment programme will ensure the property remains ahead of its competitors. The revitalisation programme has been designed to give guests a warm welcome and stylish accommodation, marking a new era for the hotel,” said Westmont’s VP operations – asset management Christopher Rawstron.
