Dubai Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has created a new trade sales manager role, in a bid to strengthen the department’s relationship with the travel trade. Andrew Sharpe will join the UK and Ireland office of DTCM in the newly created role, having previously worked with Virgin Holidays, Maritim Hotels and Sandals. Sharpe;s new role will be focused entirely on the travel trade, specifically improving relationships and developing initiatives to improve Dubai sales. In this capacity he will report to the DTCM’s director UK and Ireland, Ian Scott, and will be supported by marketing executive, Catherine Lamri. “I am proud of the relationships and reputation that the DTCM has built with the trade over the last few years, but there is always room to improve,” said Ian Scott, director UK and Ireland for the DTCM. “Andrew understands the travel industry well and has a strong commercial acumen which will enable him to fully appreciate the challenges and opportunities that face our trade partners, and then develop appropriate solutions to assist them in growing their Dubai sales.”
