Dubai hospitality operator tops shariah-compliant list

Dubai-based Al Jawhara Group of Hotels and Apartments has become the first hotel operator in the world to receive the highest ‘crescentrating’ of seven for shariah-compliant services. The Singapore-based ‘Crescentrating’ is a new rating system that focuses on the halal travel market segment worldwide and rates hotels on a scale of one to seven based on the services and facilities provided to halal-conscious travellers. “As a pioneer in Islamic hospitality, we have been setting benchmarking trends in shariah-compliant service offerings and are committed to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leader in the sector through Jawhara’s three-decade expertise,” commented Nasser Lootah, member of the Board of Directors of S.S. Lootah Group and CEO of its hospitality arms, Al Jawhara Group of Hotels and Lootah Hotel Management. Beyond providing certified halal food, prayer-related facilities and an alcohol free environment, Jawhara also offers separate amenities for men and women and other shariah-compliant hospitality services in-line with the traditions of Islamic society.Al Jawhara Group of Hotels and Apartments was the UAE’s first Islamic hospitality venture, established in 1979.
