Dubai-based aircraft leasing firm Novus Aviation Capital has launched its UK-based subsidiary, Novus Aviation Capital (UK) Limited in London, as the company looks to grow its global presence.
Mamoun Kuzbari, managing director at Novus Aviation Capital, has relocated to London to head the UK office, a company statement said.
Last month, Novus Aviation Capital announced the acquisition of three Boeing 737-900ER aircraft from PT Lion Mentari Airlines, which have been placed on long operating leases with the airline.
The successful conclusion of the sale and leaseback transaction with the Indonesian low-cost carrier further expands Novus’ aircraft management fleet.
“For Novus, expanding with a new office in London is a well-timed and ambitious step forward that demonstrates the company’s commitment to our long-term business strategy and comes as part of our plans to capitalise on our leading position as well as increase our presence in key strategic markets around the world,” said Safwan Kuzbari, president and CEO of Novus Aviation Capital.
“Despite Brexit, London is and will remain a strategic financial centre for many aviation stakeholders. On the airline side, it is the home of a number of Novus’ key airline partners, whom we aim to better serve from our new London office.
“The presence of several aircraft lessors in London will also be an advantage for our trading activities.”
