The Yok Don National Park in Vietnam’s Dak Lak province has seen the arrival of a herd of 32 wild elephants, Thanh Nien News has reported. The herd includes up to five young elephants, Park Director Truong Van Truong was reported saying. The discovery is a major boost for Yok Don, which is preparing to create a 200-hectare elephant sanctuary, following incidents of poaching in Dak Lak. The province, in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, is home to the country’s largest wild elephant population.
