England’s golf tourism industry is expected to be given a boost following the formation of a new body and subsequent partnership.
Golf Tourism England (GTE) was recently set up to generate more revenue for golf courses and has also now entered a partnership with England Golf. VisitEngland has also already leant its support for the initiative.
Since launching in July GTE has signed up almost 100 golf properties and tour operators.
“Our job is to identify opportunities for these groups to work together and create cross-marketing strategies in order for tour operators to create outstanding bespoke packages to benefit the all-round tourism experience,” said Andrew Cooke, GTE founder and CEO. “We are delighted that England Golf has given its backing to Golf Tourism England and I believe that this partnership will allow us to establish stronger working relationships between the many individual bodies which have a stake in English golf tourism at present.”
A more joint-up approach has already helped Scotland and Ireland register an increase in golf-related tourism.
