UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways has launched a new daily service to Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is Etihad Airways’ first Scottish destination, and its third departure point from the UK, alongside triple-daily flights from London Heathrow and double-daily flights from Manchester.
The new daily service will be operated with a two-class Airbus A330-200 aircraft, offering a total of 22 seats in Business Class and 240 seats in Economy Class.
Meanwhile, Etihad has confirmed the expansion of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight network with the deployment of the aircraft on the Abu Dhabi – Zurich route.
From 6 July, Etihad Airways will swap the Airbus A330-300 aircraft currently used on the route with the three-class Dreamliner.
Etihad Airways’ president and CEO, James Hogan, said that introducing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Zurich made logical sense as there has been a strong interest from Swiss travellers for the airline’s latest product.
Etihad Airways’ new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is configured to carry 235 passengers, with eight seats in First Class, 28 in Business Class and 199 in Economy Class, offering a total of 3,290 seats per week on the Abu Dhabi-Zurich route.
