Etihad Airways has introduced mobile boarding passes for passengers travelling on certain routes.
Under the new scheme, passengers will be able to receive their mobile boarding passes directly to their smartphone, and save them using the Passbook feature on iOS devices. The new mobile boarding passes will contain the same information as traditional passes, including passenger name, seat number, flight number and gate number, along with a barcode which will be scanned by an electronic reader at the departure gate.
The facility is currently available on flights from Abu Dhabi, London Heathrow, Manchester, Doha, Colombo, Dammam, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Minsk, Munich and Tokyo Narita.
