Eurotunnel has suspended ticket sales for this Bank Holiday weekend after French workers announced strike action. The industrial action will disrupt services from Folkstone to Calais this Saturday and Sunday and is expected to affect 100,000 passengers. There is currently no travel information or advice on Eurotunnel’s website. Eurostar’s services will not be affected and ferry companies such as SeaFrance have encouraged travellers to book another form of transport. It also warned that traffic on routes into the Port of Dover could be worsened as a result of the Eurotunnel strike action. “Passengers are advised to book as soon as possible as the company is already seeing an increase in bookings for the weekend,” SeaFrance said in a statement. The workers, who are from four different unions, are demanding a pay rise.
